I had planted ten trees in my backyard today to screen out a neighbors white stucco "Miami Vice" like house.
It was such a sunny day, that I was blinded by the white walls of his house. All I could see once I went into my house was the bright colors of a chest I had picked up in China Town, S.F. and a painting I had made several years ago; I decided this would be my shot of the day.
At times I have missed living in the S.F. Bay Area, but on days like today, when I can look out onto the Wasatch range from our house, 800 feet above The Salt Lake Valley, and I have the room to plant ten trees, I don't miss Marin at all.

The art director in you is showing!
And is the book a commentary on the "Bow-wow" dog of a haus next door?
What kind of trees did you plant?
I need to put two in here and am not sure what to plant. Bad to make mistakes where trees are concerned. SOmeone foolishly put an oak too close to the driveway and the house. It's getting too big for its britches...
Amusing, I have now planted twenty trees so far this year. The latest have been fifteen Thuja Evergreen Giants to screen out my neighbors, I really need these in the winter to mask their house.
I have also planted a Pluot, an Apple and an Apricot; along with two others I have forgotten their names.
Pluot? Typo or I need to go to my garden center?
There once was a Rambo apple, developed by a Swedish ancestor -- hard to find now, apparently. I was going to plant one when each of my boys were born.

Very yummy, been eating them for years, discovered them whilst living in Ventura, CA
